Firstly, thank you for your hospitality during my visit to Madrid.

Since I got back we have working to get a Pioneer 717 to replicate the problem we experienced when I set-up your system.

We got it today and after some investigation have discovered that the Pioneer is neither cutting off its digital signal nor keeping it stable. This intermediate state causes the 861 some problems.

I must point out that the SPDIF standard does not support this. However we have managed to solve this in software and can provide an update to your 861 that, in tests here, solves the problem.

There is however an additional potential problem that we have become aware of. A batch of mechanical parts have been supplied substandard and although this in no way effects the 861 it could result in this part becoming loose in the 861.

We are not sure if your machine is fitted with this faulty part but, to be on the safe side, I think we should replace your 861 with a new one. We will obviously make sure that the your new machine has the Pioneer problem fixed and we will down load the settings that I have for your existing machine and label this new machine accordingly.

I would ask that you then swap over the two machines and we will arrange to pick the suspect one up from an address of your choice. If you do not feel confident doing this we will send someone to do this for you.

Please accept my apologies for this additional inconvenience.

If this is acceptable to you I will get production to build the replacement machine immediately. Once ready we would ship it to you directly. Please specify the best address for you to take delivery.

Once you have swapped the two units over. I will arrange pick up

En primer lugar quería agradecerle su hospitalidad durante mi visita a Madrid.

Desde que volví hemos tratado de reproducir con un Pioneer 717 el problema que tuvimos al instalar su sistema.

Lo hemos conseguido hoy y después de investigarlo hemos descubierto que el Pioneer no está aislando su señal digital ni la mantiene estable. Dicho estado intermedio está causándole al 861 algunos problemas.

Debo señalar que el estándar de SPDIF no soporta esto. Sin embargo hemos conseguido solucionarlo en software y podemos suministrarle una actualización de su 861 que, según las pruebas realizadas aquí, soluciona el problema.

Aún así nos hemos dado cuenta de que existe un problema potencial añadido. Hay un lote de piezas mecánicas de baja calidad y, aunque esto no afecte en modo alguno al 861, podría dar lugar a que se suelte dicha pieza en el 861.

No estamos seguros de si su procesador lleva instalada esa pieza defectuosa, pero para estar seguros creo que deberíamos sustituir su 861 por uno nuevo. Obviamente nos aseguraremos de que en el nuevo procesador el problema de Pioneer está solucionado. También descargaremos las configuraciones que tengo para su procesador actual y etiquetaremos el nuevo procesador como corresponda.

Por lo tanto le ruego que intercambie los dos procesadores y nosotros organizaremos la recogida del defectuoso en la dirección que usted nos indique. Si no le satisface esta opción enviaremos a alguien que lo haga por usted.

I am really sorry that we have managed to replace one problem with another. I am sure from your description that it is a fault with the machine. I have little option but to offer you another replacement although I would completely understand if you wished to have your money back and this is certainly something we would consider.

Please let me know if a replacement machine is acceptable to you and I will start the process of building one. This may take a little time as I would wish to take the new machine home and run it for a few days as an extra precaution. I would also be happy to deliver this new unit so that we can make sure any problems can be dealt with quickly. I could then return with the two machines you currently have. Please, let me know when that would be possible.

If a replacement machine is not acceptable we will work out an amount to reimburse you.

Again let me apologise on behalf of Meridian for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Siento mucho haber cambiado un problema por otro. Estoy seguro por su descripción de que el procesador es defectuoso. Lo único que puedo hacer es ofrecerle otro cambio aunque entendería perfectamente que quisiera un reembolso del dinero, lo cual es algo que tendríamos en cuenta.

Por favor hágame saber si aceptaría un procesador de repuesto y comenzaremos a montar uno. Esto podría llevar algún tiempo ya que me gustaría llevarle el procesador a casa y utilizarlo durante algunos días como una medida extra de precaución. También me gustaría entregarle la nueva unidad de forma que podamos asegurarnos de que cualquier problema se puede solucionar rápidamente. Después yo podría volver con los dos procesadores que tiene actualmente. Por favor, hágame saber cuándo sería esto posible.

En caso de que no desee un procesador de repuesto calcularemos una cantidad para reembolsarle.
